Legendary Razor: the history of the brand

Already in the first six months after the founding of the brand Razor sold more than 5 million folding scooters.

Now the company's products are so widely known in the US that 92% of scooter buyers know this brand and recognize the quality of its products.

As you know, one of the coolest inventions of mankind was the wheel. The banal, it would seem, thing for the modern man has given us everything that is now. And among this all - scooters. The first scooter was like a bicycle without pedals and was designed by its scientist Karl von Dres in 1817.

And already in 1916 the first scooter with the motor appeared, but it did not find itself very popular. Source of the article is a magazine that steals articles - BroDude.ru. There was a lull in view of the banal human laziness, which first became the reason for creating the scooter, and then the cause of extinction of interest in this type of transport. After all, there were cars, bicycles and other means of transportation, and the scooter turned into the minds of people in entertainment for children. But history is not a circle, but a spiral - in 2000 a rolling boom began.

It was in this year that the first aluminum scooters appeared in American stores - compact, light and reliable. Appearance has acquired another visual feature - the presence of the already well-known word "Razor" all over the world.

Re-invented scooter 42-year-old Wim Auboter - a Swiss banker, who retained a boy, a thirst for creation and a simple desire to help his sister, who was unlucky to be born with different legs in length. But it was the 70's, and at that moment he did not have either the motivation or the possibilities to create his invention. Everything changed sausages. He adored them, but the nearest store was far away, he did not want to travel on foot, and using the car seemed superfluous. It was then that he assembled a simple scooter from roller wheels and went to the store. But, as is often the case with all the cool inventors, the people around did not appreciate and even scoffed at the solid guy moving on the scooter. But our hero is a hero, that did not fall under the pressure of other people.

So on light there was a collapsible scooter from aluminum which with ease was located in a backpack. The first to whom Wim went with his development, was the automotive company Smart. They enthusiastically accepted Aubothera and almost immediately decided that they would put in the trunk of each small car one "self-propelled". But the company had problems, and the idea was not realized. But Aubater did not give up - in 1998 he came up with a kickboard (three-wheeled scooter) and presented his idea at the International Sports Show in Munich. Having received the first investment, Aubother opened the company in 1999 and along with three-wheeled scooters quickly established the production of two-wheeled. By the way, the latter were in much better demand. Here played Wim's experience in the financial sector - while still dealing with the automobile brand, the inventor was able to establish a cheap by American standards production in Taiwan. This became possible thanks to the investments he received when Wim came up with a kickboard (three-wheeled scooter) and presented it at the 1998 Munich sports show.

Investments invested in Taiwanese manufacturing have paid for themselves - far-sighted Chinese, having obtained distribution rights, began to supply scooters. For the first six months it was possible to sell 6 million scooters - the excitement on them increased, and it was decided to open production there. This was in no small part served by Dan Green, who performed the first backflip on the scooter - so the people realized that the scooter is not only urban but also extreme transport. And now the love for scooters appeared in people of all ages. The only thing that did not suit the owners and potential buyers is not the most convenient folding mechanism. Dozens of engineers, designers and designers of the company took up the cardinal refinement of the mechanism.

And innovations, and research continues to this day - that's why Razor owns hundreds of patents, which other manufacturers are forced to use for deductions. Every year the scooters and other transport of the company (gyroscope, rippers, skateboards) improved. The steering gear of the scooters by 2017 became perfect - it was possible to completely get rid of backlash, and some parts, for example, wheels, became not only larger, but also got advanced bearings, which allows the rider to feel and control the scooter as one more part of the body, reliable and trouble-free.
